Speculation is rising among Baldur’s Gate 3 enthusiasts after a recent tweet from Emma Gregory, the voice behind the popular character Minthara. Fans are buzzing with theories that new downloadable content (DLC) might be in the pipeline.
On Sept. 28, Gregory tweeted about her return to the Pitstop recording studio, the same place where BG3 dialogues were previously recorded. She also mentioned voice and performance director Kirsty Gillmore in her tweet.
This revelation has led fans to wonder if Gregory might be working on new content for her character, Minthara. The speculation seems plausible given the context.
One fan expressed hope that if new content is indeed in the works, they’d like the option to recruit Minthara without having to destroy the Emerald Grove in the game. Another fan pointed out the peculiar capitalization of the word “Absolute” in the tweet, suggesting it might hint at the Cult of the Absolute in the game.
However, it’s essential to temper expectations. It’s more probable that Gregory is recording alternative dialogues for existing scenarios in BG3. Given that Larian Studios hasn’t officially announced any plans for DLC, the chances of entirely new content being developed seem low.
That said, fans would undoubtedly appreciate additional voice lines for Minthara. Many players have noted that BG3 could benefit from more content tailored to “evil” playthroughs. Most of the Origin Companions in the game lean towards the good side, with Minthara and Astarion being exceptions. Astarion, however, is more of a traumatized character rather than an inherently evil one.
Players have often felt that choosing an evil path in BG3 leads to missing out on significant content. This sentiment has been a common feedback point since the game’s launch. Fortunately, Larian Studios has a track record of being receptive to player feedback.
Post-launch, they’ve made several updates based on player suggestions, such as introducing endings for Karlach, enabling the removal of custom characters from multiplayer campaigns, and allowing in-game character appearance changes. All these updates addressed primary concerns raised by players after the game’s release.
